Coordinate Conversion Tools

LEOWEB 11

is a web-based version of the most recent development efforts to convert geographic coordinates to PLSS legal land descriptions. The project has been funded by Kansas GIS Policy Board and the Kansas Geological Survey. The application runs via contemporary web browsers.

LEO 7.0

is a JAVA application that converts Kansas Public Land Survey System (PLSS) legal land descriptions to geographic coordinates and vice versa. The program is designed to run as a stand-alone application allowing users to perform conversions without access to a networked environment. The application is not a surveying tool and only provides an approximate conversion.

Section-Township-Range Finder

is a map-based tool developed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment that allows the user to look up Public Land Survey System descriptions for a given latitude-longitude or address in Kansas.
