Belkasim Kh. Khameiss

My research focuses particularly on the biostratigraphy and paleoecology of Paleogene coralgal and foralgal reefs, as well as the link between these two variables.  I have spent most of my time conducting study in the Gulf Coastal Plain, Libya, the Caribbean, and the South Pacific. Additionally, I am interested in analyzing the rates and magnitudes of biological replacement of one group by another in tropical ecosystems, which is a type of evolutionary process that occurs in the paleotropics.
