Glaciers of Kansas Teaching Activities
Summary: During the Ice Age, glaciers reached as far south as Kansas. But how do we know they were here? And what was their effect on the landscape? In these activities, students will learn about the glaciers of Kansas, understand how glaciers change the landscape, and make their own glacial model using slime.

Track a Glacier: Students will use glacial striations and glacial erratics to track an ancient glacier across a fictional landscape. (MS)

Glacier Erratic Activity: Slime and glaciers move in similar fashions with the difference being time and size. In this activity, students will explore how glaciers move over long periods of time and how they pick up and move objects. (ES and MS)
