The Kansas Geological Survey (KGS) collections include archived material. That means:
- it is for reference, research, or recordkeeping; and
- the material has not been changed or altered since being archived.
The KGS is committed to making its data, maps, publications, and other resources as accessible as possible. The KGS collections span centuries and hundreds of thousands of files and web pages, so if you encounter something that doesn’t meet your accessibility needs, please contact the KGS at 785-864-3965 or kgs-editor@ku.edu.
Acknowledgment of Bias and Harmful Content in KGS Materials
The KGS aims to preserve and provide access to its full collection of publications and data sets for their historical and research significance. Email the KGS at kgs-editor@ku.edu and include:
- the title of the publication
- the page(s) where the language or imagery was found
- a quote of the specific language you feel is harmful
- a suggested alternative if you have one

We may add a content note in the abstract or notes about a piece of media, and/or add an erratum note within the document to give context, correction, and/or acknowledgement.
